About Brown · Est. 1882

A family of faith. Changing lives. Making a difference.

For more than 140 years, Brown Missionary Baptist Church has been a home for worship, discipleship, and service across the Mid-South.

Brown is more than a building. It is a family of believers spanning generations, campuses, and countries — bound together by the love of Jesus Christ and a shared calling to love God, love people, and serve our community.

    Who We Are

One church. Multiple campuses. Countless stories.

Whether you join us at our Main Campus in Southaven, our South Campus on Swinnea, our Whitehaven Campus in Memphis, or worship online from anywhere in the world, you are part of the Brown family. We gather weekly to worship together, grow in our faith, and equip one another to live out the gospel everywhere life takes us.

From our earliest days in a bush harbor in 1882 to the multi-campus ministry we are today, the heart of Brown has never changed: people meeting Jesus and walking together in faith.

    Our Roots

A legacy built on dedication and devotion.

The story of Brown began with a small congregation worshipping in a bush harbor, then a log cabin, and eventually the first frame structure at Swinnea and Stateline Road.

Generations of faithful officers, mothers, missionaries, and members built the foundation we stand on today — a foundation that is both materially strong and spiritually strong.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
